Lift plan versus LOLER examination report

Why planning a lifting operation is different from examining the lifting equipment.

The short answer

A lift plan explains how a lifting operation will be planned, supervised and carried out. A LOLER thorough-examination report records a competent person’s examination of lifting equipment. A plan is not proof of examination.

A realistic example

An AHU roof lift may need an appointed person’s lift plan and separate current examination evidence for the crane and accessories.

How SiteHQ supports the workflow

SiteHQ keeps the lift plan, supporting equipment records and LOLER examination evidence as distinct catalogue items. These workflows are currently Preview validated, not generally available for public issue.
