SiteHQ practical guide
What to record in a construction site diary
A useful daily record of people, work, conditions, instructions, progress and problems.
The short answer
Record the date, weather and conditions, people and subcontractors present, work completed, deliveries, visitors, instructions, changes, delays, incidents, photographs and actions. Write what happened, not what you assume happened.
A realistic example
A daily entry records that the Level 4 ceiling strip-out stopped at 14:10 after an unidentified service was found, with a photograph, the person notified and the action owner.
How SiteHQ supports the workflow
SiteHQ stores the diary entry, photographs and related project actions together so they can be found from the project later.
